Why Staff Retention Matters

Commitment and consistency are critical to good quality professional care. Regular staff turnover disrupts continuity of care, essential for building trust and rapport between care workers and their clients’ as well as for developing a deep understanding of a client’s specific needs.  Interestingly, it was noted that care workers recruited internationally, were less likely to leave their social care post, with a 30% turnover rate compared to domestically recruited workers where there was a 41.1% turnover rate.

However, turnover rates reduced to 24% where carers were being paid the national living wage, had guaranteed and full-time hours and were given training to work towards qualifications.

We are happy to say that at Kayden Care, all of the above positive employment factors are in place for our staff. We firmly believe that investing in our carers leads to better outcomes for individuals and the families we support.
